Seniors Festival

We're challenging the way the community thinks about ageing.

Each year our City celebrates the contributions seniors make to our community through the Mount Gambier Seniors Festival. This year the celebration is called ZestFest 2017 - a Festival for Modern Ageing.

Mount Gambier’s ZestFest activities will be launched on Sunday 22nd October, 2017 with a free concert for seniors, their friends and families presented by the Mount Gambier City Band. The program will feature the City Band, a small ensemble from the James Morrison Jazz Academy and a vocal performance. The concert will be held at the City Band Hall at 70 Pick Avenue from 2:00pm. No bookings required.

Leading Australian arts company Illuminart has been working with the City of Mount Gambier, and will host a one night only large scale building projection on the evening of Saturday 28th October, 2017 after sunset at the Main Corner. The community is invited to come down to see seniors light up the City at night. The Riddoch Art Gallery will also be open with special tours of the latest exhibition and an invitation for people to experience the future tech of augmented reality for themselves.

The festival incorporates the annual Senior of the Year Awards, which highlights the contribution of a range of individuals and groups to the lives of older people and the broader community.
